History

Yoshi, Luigi, and Wario join Mario in the castle of Super Mario 64 DS. Nintendo's 2004 reworking adds touch controls and extra stars the Nintendo 64 game did not have.

A rabbit theft opens the grounds, and each character's move set finds stars the others cannot, with the touch screen blowing out ghosts or grabbing distant ledges. The 1996 Nintendo 64 castle remains its own separate game.

Extra stars, the character gates, and the stylus are the DS additions. It is the reworking, not the 1996 original under a new label.
