History

Ashley Mizuki Robbins searches Blood Edward Island for her father in Another Code: Two Memories. Cing developed the mystery and Nintendo published it in 2005. North America retitled the same story Trace Memory.

Puzzles often split across the two screens, pairing a note or a photograph with the room in front of her. The DAS, a fictional device she carries, reads messages and triggers machines on the island. She arrives as a girl looking for a parent, not as a detective for hire.

The island is remote, with a laboratory past and a house that does not surrender its locks. Her father's absence is the reason she takes the boat. The DAS stays in the bag as both a tool and a piece of the family question.

Hotel Dusk is a different Cing mystery with a different lead. Trace Memory is not a sequel to that hotel. This island search is the earlier game.
