History

Wario hunts treasure with a shoulder charge in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, and the ending changes with how greedy he was. Nintendo's first Wario Land, still numbered as a Mario Land, arrived on Game Boy in 1994.

A helmet blocks falling debris, a thrown foe becomes a projectile, and the coins he hoards steer which finale plays. Captain Syrup's pirates hold the loot he is trying to steal.

The greed of the ending is the story's joke. The Mario Land number on the box keeps this treasure hunt inside that handheld line.
