Fruit scores replace a long overworld in Yoshi's Story. Each short page clears when the chosen fruit is eaten, and the picture-book look frames a Nintendo 64 side-scroller that is softer than Yoshi's Island.
Nintendo released it in 1997, with six colored Yoshis and a melon that counts for more than a common apple. Baby Bowser's pages are brief, scored, and replayable, closer to a graded snack run than to a fortress siege.
The SNES Yoshi's Island remains the larger island adventure. Here the joy meter and the fruit quota are the finish line, and a perfect page is a high score rather than a rescued baby.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
