History

The physical-special split rewrites moves in Pokemon Diamond. A move's category, not only its type, decides whether attack or special attack lands, and Sinnoh's gyms are where that new math first matters.

Game Freak and Nintendo released Diamond as one half of the 2006 pair. Dialga is the cover legendary, Pearl keeps Palkia, and Platinum is the third version. Brilliant Diamond on Switch is a remake with its own page.

Mt. Coronet splits the region. Underground digging and the split damage categories are the generation's new tools, not a Johto reunion.
