Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin swap in and out during Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Konami's DS search-action game from 2006 lets the pair share one castle crawl.
Paintings become doors to other locales, and the partner left in reserve can be called for a spell or a whip strike. The dual leads are the difference from a lone Belmont walk.
That crawl is the portrait castle with those two heroes. Swapping them is the verb, not a costume change on one fighter.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
