History

A recipe in Cooking Mama is a chain of short kitchen tests, and Office Create released that first entry in 2006. You chop, stir, and plate, each step with its own gesture. Miss the timing and Mama scolds the result, then finishes the dish herself.

Chopping tracks the stylus like a knife. Stirring wants a steady circle. Plating has to drop the food on the outline she shows, and a sloppy landing brings the disappointed face.

Majesco published the cartridge in the United States. Taito published it in Japan. The two boxes lead into the same kitchen and the same judging.

Later collections added more dishes, so the menu here is the original one. There is no restaurant to manage between recipes. You cook, you hear the verdict, and you turn to the next card.
