History

Intelligent Systems recast Panel de Pon with pocket monsters for Pokémon Puzzle Challenge, a Game Boy Color stack-matcher. Japan sold it as Pokemon de Panepon, and the Western cart dates to 2000.

Blocks rise under a partner's portrait, and swapping two tiles sends an attack at the rival stack. A league of puzzle matches replaces the Yoshi framing used in Tetris Attack.

Panel de Pon is the Japanese puzzle Intelligent Systems started from. This cartridge keeps the rising stack and dresses it in pocket monsters.
