History

Rare sent Dixie and Kiddy north in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! Donkey and Diddy are missing, so the search crosses a colder map than the earlier Country islands.

Kiddy is the heavy partner, and Dixie's helicopter hair still crosses gaps the toddler cannot. Barrel cannons and animal buddies return in that northern world, with a mill and a lake in place of the first game's beaches.

It closes the Super Nintendo Country trilogy, late in the console's life, in 1996 already. The missing heroes and the northern trek are the reasons this last cartridge is not another visit to Donkey Kong Island.
