History

Planes, hovercraft, and cars share the cups of Diddy Kong Racing DS. Rare rebuilt the N64 racer, and Nintendo published the DS edition in 2007. New tracks, touch-screen gimmicks, and Taj set it apart from the television original.

You still choose land, water, or air and race themed courses in that vehicle. Stylus gimmicks add moments the older version never asked for. Extra tracks push the cup list past the original layout.

Taj, the genie associated with the challenges, is part of this edition. Diddy remains the face on the box. Rare retuned the handling for the two small screens.

The N64 racer has its own page, and so does Mario Kart DS. Neither is this remake. Taj and the added courses are the quickest way to tell the handheld edition from the older Diddy meet.
