History

Charged buster shots and a false patron define Mega Man 4 (1991), which sends the hero against Dr. Cossack before the usual Wily twist. Pharaoh Man and the other new masters still drop weapons, and the charge is available even before those weapons are taken.

The arm cannon can be held until the shot grows, a habit the earlier games did not ask for. Cossack's citadel looks like the final stop until the plot turns back toward Dr. Wily.

Capcom kept the side-view robot run and added that charge and that misdirection. The NES chapter is still a master-weapon loop, with Cossack as the detour.
