Fresh mazes extend the bomb-and-brick formula in Bomberman II, Hudson Soft's single-screen blaster on the NES. Soft blocks hide exits and power-ups, and the blast still travels in a straight cross.
Hudson released those new maze stages in 1991, and the robot still has to outrun his own fuse. A soft block hiding the exit is the usual prize inside each single screen.
Super Bomberman later turned the idea into a party line with its own rules and its own machine. This cartridge stays a single-screen blaster, one maze at a time, rather than that later party design.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
