History

Zero's parts decide the ending of Mega Man X2, and Capcom's X-Hunters carry the pieces that let him return to help. A hunter fought in a stage may drop a piece, and missing it leaves X without his partner for the ending stretch.

The 1994 Super Nintendo sequel continues the X series' wall cling and charged buster. Sigma's influence lingers, but the X-Hunters are the new pursuers holding Zero's body.

Armor capsules still hide in optional corners. The part hunt, more than a new buster color, is the decision that makes this chapter different from the first X.
