Stainless Games made Carmageddon a car-combat race notorious for running over pedestrians, and SCI published it. Points come from checkpoints or from the crowd, and a wrecked car can still crawl if the driver keeps moving.
The 1997 computer game is the original. A Nintendo 64 port exists and was censored in some regions, which changes how the pedestrians look even when the demolition racing stays.
Repair pads and a timer push the driver to hit something, whether that is a rival car or the people on the course. The computer version is the uncut source of that idea; the cartridge is the later, sometimes censored, edition.
