A flutter jump, and stretches where Yoshi turns into a vehicle, define Yoshi's New Island, the sequel Arzest developed and Nintendo published in 2014. Baby Mario still has to be carried along, yet the island and the search for Baby Luigi are their own delivery, echoing the first trip without repeating it. Swallowed enemies become eggs to throw, and some of those eggs swell large enough to smash a wall an ordinary toss cannot break.
The flutter catches a jump that was a little late, which softens a pit next to a stricter jumping game. Helicopter, mine-cart, and submarine forms briefly replace walking with a tilt-controlled ride. Coins tucked off the main path invite a slower second visit after an exit is already known.
Big bosses absorb several volleys of eggs before they drop. A hit knocks Baby Mario off Yoshi's back and starts a countdown to catch him. Dropping into a pit skips that grace and spends a life at once.
Arzest made the sequel and Nintendo published the cartridge. Worlds still climb toward a fort and a castle, while the stork's interrupted flight keeps marking this island as a new one.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
