A peeled sticker might open a path or become the only command on offer in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the Intelligent Systems journey Nintendo published in 2012. No battle partner stays in the party for the whole trip. The lands are paper craft, full of tabs, folds, and objects lifted off the scenery.
Battle stickers work as inventory. A jump, a hammer, or a fire flower is a scrap placed on a turn, and using it spends the scrap until another is found or bought. An empty album turns a short line of Goombas into a scramble.
Field stickers solve set pieces, such as a fan that must be stuck in place or a gap that needs one particular scrap. The Things, ordinary props with something inside them, serve as the large encounters. Desert, forest, snow, and harbor kingdoms are built from those crafts rather than from one town full of allies.
Intelligent Systems pointed this outing away from The Thousand-Year Door. Growth lives in the sticker album instead of a climbing experience level, and Nintendo's publishing put that album on the handheld.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
