History

Huey's paint restores Prism Island in Paper Mario: Color Splash. Battles spend cards instead of the old partner turns, and a hammer swing is aimed at a thing-card the player has painted into the deck.

Intelligent Systems and Nintendo released the Wii U game in 2016, between Sticker Star and The Origami King on Switch. Port Prisma is the hub, and unpainted spots on the island are the reason to keep walking.

The partner system of the first two Paper Mario games is not the battle model here. Paint capacity and the card hand are.
