A Norwegian studio's first project is a turn-based journey, and EARTHLOCK: Festival of Magic is Snowcastle Games' debut. A bonded stance changes which skill the next turn can spend, which is the party system the debut is built on.
Party members bond into stances that change which skills they bring to the next fight. The bright overworld and the festival of the title sit over a traditional battle screen rather than an action dodge.
The 2016 release introduces that cast without assuming an earlier chapter. A successor-console version carries the same stance system and the same first-game scope.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
