Earlier microgames and brand-new ones share a voiced story mode in WarioWare Gold, the Intelligent Systems collection Nintendo released in 2018. Wario and the regular crew introduce toys that last only a few seconds each. It arrived late in the hardware's life, among the last large Nintendo releases for that system.
A stage gives one verb, such as dodge, charge, or match a pose, and then the timer expires. A miss is immediate, and the next gag starts almost at once. Speed climbs from readable introductions into rounds that leave no time to think the prompt through.
Bosses inside the story obey the same split-second rules as the toys around them. Spoken lines fill scenes that older entries often left as text and grunts. Touch-screen gags sit beside button gags drawn from earlier volumes of the series.
Nintendo published the Intelligent Systems compilation, voice tracks included. The story gives the pile a beginning and an end, and a single toy can still be replayed for a stricter score once that plot is finished.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
