History

Four controllers share one television in Mario Party 4, Hudson's first party on the GameCube. The 2002 boards and minigames keep the format the Nintendo 64 games had already drilled in.

Mario, Peach, Wario, and the rest still roll a die, land on a space, and then play a short contest for coins. New boards change the gimmick, while the star someone has to buy remains the argument of the afternoon.

Hudson had already shipped three living-room parties. This fourth one moves the same die, the same star, and a fresh set of minigames onto the new console.
