Nanashi walks the ruined streets in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, the Atlus side story released in 2016. Human partners join the party and pull the tone toward personal bonds, louder than the stern journey this plot overlaps. The events sit during Shin Megami Tensei IV, and the campaign is its own story rather than a remake.
Demon negotiation, fusion, and press-turn battles carry the fights. Factions already active in that Tokyo try to claim Nanashi, and alignment choices push back. Underground districts and surface ruins hide encounters that can end a run when the party is careless.
Bonds with those partners change scenes and some resolutions, so brushing the group off is a real decision. Resistances and skill sets still decide whether a boss pattern can be broken. Hunter associations and divine powers remain the political weather over the city.
Atlus built the midquel with ending routes of its own. A player who already knows the other protagonist will recognize places from a second angle, while someone new still meets Nanashi from the first scene.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
