Both screens stack into one tall battlefield in Contra 4, a run-and-gun WayForward built for Konami in 2007. A grappling hook climbs the seam where the displays meet. Classic Contra weapons return beside that hook.
You still run, jump, and fire through soldiers and alien guns. A hook shot or a ladder can carry you from the lower display fully onto the upper one. Familiar guns, spread patterns among them, sit in the weapon cycle.
Contra III is a different game, the Super Nintendo entry with its own stages and its own overhead sections. This mission was built for the tall view. WayForward did not paste the older cartridge onto two screens.
Konami published the result. The hook is the first movement trick to practice, because many rooms are taller than one display. A bullet that shares your tile still ends the life immediately.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
The series list above is the whole family set in this catalog.
