Dash Rendar fills the gap between films in LucasArts' Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, a 1996 multimedia project that includes a Nintendo 64 campaign. The Battle of Hoth opens that campaign, with a snowspeeder against walkers before the story moves on.
Dash's ship, the Outrider, carries him through sewer chases and a space brawl that the movies do not show. IG-88 and bounty hunters crowd a story set after The Empire Strikes Back and before Return of the Jedi.
