Three tournaments share one roster in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Midway packed the first three games together, and the Nintendo 64 cartridge held a larger fighter list than the PlayStation disc.
Shao Kahn, Motaro, and the hidden palette swaps sit beside the living roster in a compilation released in 1996. Motaro's inclusion is the cartridge's roster boast. Fatalities still end the round, but the reason to own this cart is the headcount, not a new realm's story.
The PlayStation release trimmed names the cartridge kept. A mirror match against a boss the disc omitted is the Nintendo 64 edition's boast.
