On-foot missions join the sorties in Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, Factor 5's extension of the flight formula. Wedge Antilles and other pilots share the campaign with those ground stretches. When the Rogue Leader disc is on hand a second player can join, and the mixed tour arrived in 2003.
Sabotage, speeder runs, and firefights ask for boots where a pure cockpit game would stay airborne. Afterward the view returns to a ship for bombing passes and dogfights. Handoffs between ground and cockpit are what the third installment is built around.
Wedge leads assignments rather than commenting from the edge of a single-hero radio drama. Several pilots divide the work, so the Rebel job spreads across the squadron. Cooperative seats depend on the earlier disc, and without it the campaign stays solo.
Rogue Leader itself remains a separate flight game. Infantry objectives and the disc-linked partner belong only to this chapter. Factor 5 made stepping out of the cockpit part of the work.
