History

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time uses a lock-on camera so a sword fight can exist inside a 3D Hyrule. Songs played on the instrument change the hour, call a horse, or warp to a place you have already earned.

Shigeru Miyamoto produced it and Eiji Aonuma directed the dungeons, with Koji Kondo writing the ocarina themes the player performs to open doors and change the time of day. Link is a child in Kokiri Forest, then an adult after the Master Sword seals him, and the same temples exist in both ages.

Epona, the hookshot, and the iron boots are tools that rewrite earlier rooms. The Water Temple's iron-boots puzzle is the one players still argue about. A trading sequence that ends with Biggoron's sword is optional and long, which fits a game that treats side errands as part of the world.

The Nintendo 3DS revision changes the iron boots, the hints, and the graphics, and it has its own page. The iron boots and the Water Temple arguments belong to this version, not the later handheld revision.
