Bionic Commando: Elite Forces

These soldiers cannot jump, so the claw is the only way up in Bionic Commando: Elite Forces. Nintendo Software Technology built the Game Boy Color adventure, and Nintendo published it in 1999. A male commando and a female commando each walk a slightly different route, with starting guns the other does not carry.

Latch the arm overhead, swing, and let go to cross a shaft. Some rooms open a sniper view for a distant shot, a beat the pure swinging games never asked for. Commander Joe has been taken by the Avar forces, and the mission is to bring him back.

The female commando begins with a lighter weapon and a quieter approach, while the male commando opens with heavier fire and a more direct push. Both still fall if the claw misses, because nothing in the move list replaces that grab. Nintendo Software Technology shapes a long run of vertical rooms around that single limitation.

The NES Bionic Commando tells a different war with a different mission list. Here the paired leads, the sniper moments, and the rescue of Joe are the campaign Nintendo actually shipped on the Color handheld.
