History

LJN put the clawed Marvel mutant on a cartridge in Wolverine, a side-view trek from 1991 already. Adamantium claws are how he gets through soldiers and beasts, and the comic license is the reason the cart exists.

It belongs with that publisher's comic-book games, not with later fighting-game appearances. There is no tournament bracket and no versus screen, only a course of jumps and slashes.

Health and enemies behave like an obstacle run rather than a superhero duel. The X-Men name brings players in, while the stages themselves are pits, thugs, and the claws.
