History

Accolade kept the dirt-racing line going with Test Drive: Off-Road 3, the off-road entry from 1999 that swaps sports cars for trucks and buggies. A Game Boy Color edition was issued under that same off-road name.

Trucks and buggies replace the paved sports cars of the parent Test Drive games. Courses run through mud, hills, and desert instead of street circuits and closed asphalt loops.

The handheld edition keeps the dirt theme on a small screen. It is the third off-road entry, not one of the road-going Test Drive boxes that never left the pavement.
