History

Special moves made the SNES living room a cabinet when Street Fighter II arrived. Ryu's fireball, Chun-Li's spinning kick, and Guile's flash still come from the same motion the arcade taught.

Capcom's home conversion in 1992 put that roster, from Blanka to M. Bison, on a console pad that had to fake six buttons with combinations. This record is that SNES era, separate from the arcade board and from later PlayStation editions.

Mirrors and bonus stages kept the one-on-one shape. A Dragon Punch still needs the familiar stick motion, which is why the cartridge stayed in so many SNES collections.
