History

Al Alcorn's paddle tennis for Atari is Pong (1972), the arcade rally that became a commercial phenomenon with decades of reissues after that cabinet. Two paddles, one ball, and a score are the entire sport.

You slide a bat and try not to miss the accelerating ball. No character, no season, and no team sheet sits behind the rally.

A Game Boy Advance release is one of those later reissues of the cabinet idea. The phenomenon started with the upright, not with a story mode.
