You chisel a solid block instead of filling squares in Picross 3D. HAL Laboratory and Nintendo released that sculpting logic puzzle in 2010. Numbers on the faces tell which cubes to cut and which to leave.
One tool breaks a cube away and another marks it as solid. The figure inside may be an animal, a vehicle, or a household object once the spare cubes are gone. A wrong cut cracks the block and costs a life.
Picross DS gives you a flat grid. This puzzle rotates, and the clues wrap the faces. A row can run through depth, so a number you need may sit on a side you have not turned toward yet.
HAL Laboratory kept number logic and changed the gesture into a chisel. Nintendo published the blocks. Turning the sculpture is part of reading it, not a camera flourish.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
