History

Linking books on a pre-rendered island define Myst. Cyan's 1993 point-and-click landmark began on Macintosh, and a DS port arrived years after that computer original.

Atrus's sons, Sirrus and Achenar, wait inside ages reached by those books, and the puzzles are machines rather than conversation trees. The DS port puts the same island on a handheld long after the Macintosh release, and a 3DS listing also carries the island puzzle.

The library, the tower rocket, and the ages are the computer game's famous rooms. Handheld editions follow that Macintosh original rather than replacing it.
