History

Neverland filled Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals with puzzle rooms that are the dungeon, not a side errand. Taito published this Super Famicom prequel in 1995, and the US release kept those puzzles as a main draw.

Maxim's party shoves crates, rides moving blocks, and steps on switches before a monster is even the point. Capsule monsters can join the humans, and the Ancient Cave stands as a separate challenge tower.

The earlier Lufia told a later war against the Sinistrals. This prequel spends its hours on intricate rooms, which is why the US box still led with the puzzles.
