History

Acclaim tied Batman Forever to Joel Schumacher's 1995 film, on Super Nintendo and Game Boy carts that share the movie rather than Sunsoft's earlier Batman games. Two-Face and the Riddler supply the villain imagery, and the stages are an action license of that picture.

Gadgets from the film, including a grapple, structure the jumps. The Game Boy edition is a smaller cut of the same license, not a level-select inside the Super Nintendo cart.

Sunsoft's NES and Genesis Batman games are different stories and different studios. Schumacher's Gotham, the Riddler, and Two-Face mark this pair of Acclaim carts.
