Puppy Love, the stage where a puppy must be bounced to safety, sits inside Earthworm Jim 2 among Shiny's continuing cartoon levels. The worm, the suit, and the inflated absurdity of the first game return with new gags rather than a straight repeat.
Shiny continued the series in 1995, and Sega hardware led again. The bounced puppy is one of the stages people describe when they separate this sequel from the first cart.
Nintendo ports followed the Sega lead, as they had with the first worm. The bounced puppy and the new level toys are the sequel's own material.
