History

Captain Falcon's Blue Falcon is one of a small roster in F-Zero, a hovercraft race that showed off Mode 7 speed. Mute City, Death Wind, and Port Town are tracks, and a machine that kisses the railing loses boost energy.

Nintendo's 1990 original pits those few hulls against one another on a flat course that scales toward the horizon. The league table is short, and falling off the track is a harsher penalty than a simple slowdown.

Later entries on Nintendo 64 and GameCube add cups and machines this roster never had. Mute City and the Blue Falcon's first league remain this Mode 7 cartridge.
