History

Chris Roberts mixes cockpit sorties with a branching carrier plot in Wing Commander. Origin released the PC original in 1990, and the Super Nintendo port is a later, simplified adaptation of those flights.

A lost mission can change the next briefing aboard the Tiger's Claw, and a Kilrathi ace may return if the guns miss. Shipmates' portraits react to the war's direction between dogfights.

The console version keeps the Kilrathi war while trimming the PC simulation's detail. Roberts's branching briefings, not a pure score attack, are what the name describes.
