History

Tamsoft's weapons fighter Battle Arena Toshinden arrived with the early PlayStation, published by Takara. Blade duels in three dimensions are what the name refers to, and the game dates to 1995.

Eiji Shinjo's katana and a rival's long weapon circle a ring that can throw a loser off the edge. The camera sits near the blade, part of that early PlayStation showcase.

A Game Boy listing under the same name is a different, smaller product. The three-dimensional weapon fights are the battles the title means.
