History

Swim, spin, and ride animal friends in The Legendary Starfy, the first Starfy game released in the West. Tose developed it and Nintendo published it in 2008. Japan already knew this story as the fifth Densetsu no Stafi.

The hero is a starfish prince. Spin attacks and swimming strokes are how he moves. A ridden animal changes the current of a stage, carrying him through water he would cross slowly alone.

Moe the clam tags along and talks. Courses mix open water, dry ground, and creatures large enough to board. The tone stays light.

Four earlier Densetsu no Stafi games stayed in Japan. Tose and Nintendo brought this fifth one across. It is not a Kirby game, even though both are bright side-view adventures.
