Nintendo R&D1 and Minakuchi Engineering aimed a small ship up the glass and named the vertical shooter Solar Striker. Nintendo published it in 1990, and shooters carrying that publishing credit were rare on the Game Boy. Icons scooped up during the climb rewrite the shot leaving the nose.
A plain pellet can open into a spread or tighten into a heavier beam, and dropping the power returns the weak stream at the worst moment. Bosses already occupy the top edge when that happens. The view never turns sideways: threats fall from above while the craft stays low.
Minakuchi Engineering keeps the formations legible on the tiny display. Nintendo R&D1's hand in the project, together with Nintendo's name on the box, makes this an official first-party shooter on a machine that seldom received one. Hold the powered gun through the pattern and meet whatever caps the climb.
There is no town and no horizontal trek between waves. The cartridge is the ascent, the changing nose gun, and the large silhouettes waiting at the end of each stretch of sky.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.

No wider family is grouped for this title beyond the series list.
