Activision's Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure is the sequel to David Crane's Atari 2600 Pitfall, drawn with pre-rendered jungle animation. It debuted on the Genesis and Super Nintendo in the mid-1990s, with 1995 as the year on this record, not the 2600 era.
Pitfall Harry Jr. swings on vines, cracks a whip, and searches Mayan ruins for his father. A crocodile and a crumbling ledge punish a short jump in a denser stage than the 2600's single screen of pits.
A Game Boy Advance port later carried the same ruins. Crane's original pit-jumps live on the 2600, and this adventure is the pre-rendered follow-up.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
