History

Nintendo and Tose made Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters for Game Boy, a sequel to the NES angel-archer. It reached North America and Europe in 1991 and skipped Japan at the time.

Pit climbs vertical chambers again, and a stronger bow still depends on keeping his health up. New fortresses and a different final threat replace the underworld egg of the NES quest.

The NES Kid Icarus is the ascent this handheld continues. Japan missed Of Myths and Monsters in that first window, while North America and Europe received it.
