Beach events fill California Games, Epyx's collection of surfing, half-pipe skating, and BMX. Each event has its own timing, from a wave face to a ramp lip to a dirt jump.
The computer sports collection arrived in 1987, with those beach and street contests already the lineup. Judges, crashes, and a score for style sit beside simply finishing the run.
An NES port later brought the same event list home. Surfing the wave, skating the half-pipe, and riding the BMX course remain the three set pieces Epyx is known for here.
