Miles Edgeworth investigates crimes himself in Ace Attorney Investigations 2, with Kay Faraday beside him in the field. Capcom released the DS cartridge in Japan under the name Gyakuten Kenji 2. That Japanese release, dated 2011, was not an English DS edition.
Logic chess is the new clash. You face a witness and break a chain of contradictions move by move, beside Edgeworth's older habit of connecting clues. Kay's thieving skills open paths a prosecutor would not normally walk.
No official English script shipped on the original DS cartridge for a Western launch. An official English version came years later on other platforms. Those later platforms are where that official English script lives.
Edgeworth is no longer only the rival across from a defense attorney. He walks the scene, and Kay is the partner who slips past locks. Logic chess keeps the arguments from repeating the first Investigations game beat for beat.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
The series list above is the whole family set in this catalog.
