Monolith Soft set a colony on a fallen titan, and Xenoblade Chronicles follows Shulk from that Bionis outpost toward the Mechonis on the horizon. Colony 9's stand against a faced Mechon is the fight that wakes Shulk's vision of the future.
Attacks keep swinging on their own while arts have to be timed against a vision of the next blow. The Monado shows those flashes, and standing behind a faced Mechon changes which art actually lands.
Nintendo published the journey in 2010, and a handheld port later carried the same march. The Definitive Edition on the hybrid console is a different release from this original Colony 9 story.
