CommanderVideo runs without a stop button in BIT.TRIP RUNNER, the 2010 WiiWare rhythm game from Gaijin Games. Every jump, slide, and kick has to land on the beat, and failing the rhythm long enough strips the color out of the stage.
It is the fourth BIT.TRIP release, so the bouncing hero already had a history before this auto-runner. Gold bars and pitfalls are arranged like a chart, and the score is a music performance as much as a distance.
The WiiWare original is this forced sprint. Later sequels added their own heroes; here CommanderVideo is alone with the beat.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
