Weaponized cars keep an alternate 1970s war going in Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense. Luxoflux followed its vehicular combat game with this 1999 sequel, still a fight between armed vehicles rather than a clean race.
Special weapons mounted on the chassis replace a pit stop. Arenas built from desert diners and half-finished highways are the laps.
The first Vigilante 8 set the decade and the guns. 2nd Offense adds machines and maps without leaving that car-war premise.
