Acclaim and Iguana brought the comic hunter to foggy jungles in Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, an early Nintendo 64 showpiece from 1997 already. Dinosaurs and armed poachers share the mist, and the draw distance fades into that fog.
The campaign is a first-person trek with a bow, firearms, and keys for ancient doors. Health plants and ammunition caches are the reason to leave the main path and search a ravine.
It was one of that console's early demonstrations of a first-person view. The comic hero, the fog, and the dinosaur packs are what the cartridge was bought to show.
