History

Konami brought the arcade Green Beret home as Rush'n Attack, a base assault fought largely with a knife. Soldiers pour in from both sides of a military yard, and the blade is the weapon that never runs out.

A dropped gun helps until its shots are gone, then the knife is all that remains. Alarm troops make the yard suddenly crowded, which is why the timing of a stab matters more than a firearm you might miss.

The American name is the one printed for the NES, and the coin-op predates that cartridge. The 1988 home version keeps the barracks, the bridges, and Green Beret's knife.
